awareness in relation to our role as an organization
responsible for ensuring high quality standards of
services and security and safety. We want to ensure that
there is ample information for you the visitor to our
shores to enjoy problem free travel to Samoa. This page
is designed to highlight the main services provided,
with a particular section highlighted each month.
The main services provided by the Samoa Airport
Authority at Faleolo, include, Aerodrome services Air
and Ground, Airport Security and Fire and Emergency
Services. In this the first edition we highlight the

Airport Security
and Emergency services.
Security Services for Samoa Airport and Aviation
Facilities ensures the safe and efficient
handling of aircraft and Passenger facilitation
that is in accordance with the world’s best
practices, standards, recommendations and
guidelines. The Security and Emergency
Department operates on a 24 hour basis.
Since 9/11 airline
security
has been stringent, with security checks taking
some time especially international flights
passengers should be at the airport two hours
before departure. Some of the checks include
X-ray inspections before boarding. Film should
be taken as carry-on luggage, as the x-ray
screening of checked-in baggage can damage the
film and render it useless.

Preparation for
Emergencies
are always a priority in the Authority’s Plans,
thus it having Emergency Exercises on a regular
basis, part of the efforts to minimize any
negative impacts arising from any possible
emergency event concerning the Airport and
Aviation Services, or within the vicinity of our
Airport and Aviation premises.
Banking
At the airport visitors have access to the
following banks ANZ, WESTPAC, Western Internet
facilities are available through SamoaTel. Cafés
for that great Coffee and beverages are
available. Duty Free is in the departure lounge.
Taxi Services are mini buses and sedans.
