I masalo o lea ua maua le tala na tou o i le finals i London ma Paris manaia...o le a o fua foi next year i le IRB no goverment funding from Samoa but IRB...its all good.... koeikiki lava malo kakou...hey well lets not be hard on the boys...the 15`s manu samoa are not winning any cups...so why are we so harsh on the manu samoa 7`s at least they made it to the finals...that counts plus they won the plates few times this year...that count for something. we have to continue to support them all the way...aua le solomua i a kakou le komumu...ae maua le agaga o le support ma le loko nuu. I have watch the manu samoa boys played ever since i was seven...i mingle with the aumakamaka i le au kapua`i pe a live aku se taaloga i samoa...most of the people are guys...but i was only a little girl. Still today, I still remember those days when our boys in blue played...ae kumukumu ai kapuaiga a aiga i se fale o se aiga e kapua`i...ai. I love our team...i am fill with manu samoa spirit all the way...man i tell u...i know all the rules about rugby...and my guy friends are so surprise when i watch rugby with them...and they laugh...I told them..what r u kidding me...i grew up watching rugby...one day..my cousin called us up in america and told us to come and watch him played rugby in LA (Carson City), and he never mention to us he was playing for the manu samoa sevens. Boy oh boy..i told him 7 or 15 it does not matter your in the manu samoa team now ...u carry our coutries name...every game they play they win they lost..of course most of the time they lose..lol! but I pray that everyday and someday they will win. A year ago my family called from samoa.."suga vaai se sukalaki a le kama lena ua kapukeni" and i was so lava shock...anyways we all knew they are not allowed to eat sweets...so we gave him money...faakau ai sana panikeke i le sefe panikeke i samoa pe a uma le lakapi. When he was injured (my cousin) I cried seeing him on field ae oi ua gau le vae...oka i did not know what to do but pray I will see him soon so i know he is well. he loves to play rugby, loves his country and loves his family...I remember after rugby training at Malisi or Apia Park he would always come home ae koe sulu le ulu ile faiga o le saka, salu le vao, pusa le umu....i knew then becoming a manu samoa player was never going to change him...he would always be our kama faipopo from savaii e le kau faasigo...and he will never change ....anyways thats enough...u might know more details kou o ula i si oka kei.. I donno..but I love this country of ours and I told my husband it`s a blessing that we have someone from our family playing for our country. My husband loves rugby...he played in samoa for his village and here in the University in Japan...he told me ...someday our team is going to win...and when we have a son the first toy i will buy for him..(if possible) is a rugby polo...i can`t wait to see his face when it turns out to be a girl...kailo e koe kaalo a laia o ia i lana polo..before this will turn into a novel...i just want to say...don`t give up hope...I haven`t...and even if my time comes and our team will never win that trophy...my children will never stop believing in them...whatever happen to "Fa'avae le Atua Samoa" isn`t that our main model. poo le mea na`o le fa'alele lava i gutu ae o le loko makua oki a o se mea. well that is enough for me...I`ll be out for now.. sayonara...soifua from Hokkaiddo.Japan |

Dubai Countdown: Little man, big accolade
One notable omission in Dubai this weekend is Samoa's captain Uale Mai, the man named IRB Sevens Player of the Year at a glittering IRB Awards ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday.
Mai is the type of player for whom Sevens rugby was surely invented but, after impressing so much over the last year, he has become the latest Sevens crowd-pleaser to catch the eye of the national XV-a-side coaches.
Diminutive in stature, what Mai lacks in size and brute force he makes up for in guile, body positioning and quick-wittedness and for the fast-improving Samoan set-up to be taking a serious look at him over the next two weeks speaks volumes.
"I think he deserves it, he is the one who has been moving Samoa onto another level," said Fiji Sevens player/coach Waisale Serevi after Mai had scooped Sevens rugby's top honour.
"He works very hard. At the end of each tournament you look at his face and he's always very tired and for him to win this award I congratulate him and his team mates. It's a great thing for Samoa."
Mai himself chose to dedicate the award to the collective. "Winning this award makes me very proud," he said. "Really, the award isn't just for me though - it's for my team and my coaches and my family who all support me."
Anyone with half an eye on the IRB Sevens series for the last few years cannot fail to have noticed the magic hands, quick feet and sharp rugby brain of the stocky little half back; They might also have seen him score one of his 23 tries, 53 goals or 221 points last season that nudged him up to fourth in the all time points list behind only Ben Gollings, his friend Serevi and New Zealand's own Sevens whiz Amasio Raoma Valence.
Mai is due to return to Sevens at the third series event in Wellington, New Zealand in February. For this weekend, though, Samoa are faced with the task of filling the big hole left by one of the smallest men in international rugby.

I am greatful and thankful to God everyday because our team has finally one a leg in the IRb Circuit. Our boy put in a great deal of effort. I am so proud of them. All we need was patience, and faith that we can do anything. Please continue to do better, and believe in the Lord because without him our team will never succeed in anything.
Great support from our samoan supporters around the Globe, and in Samoa. Please let us continue to pray for the boys as they compete in their next tournament in San Diego. malo le tapua`i samoa!
Good Luck boys may God be with you all
